FAQ — 2025 Cross Border Tax — File & Win iPhone Contest
In case of any conflict of information between FAQs and Terms & Conditions, the content of Terms & Conditions shall prevail.
GENERAL QUESTIONS
It is a promotional contest organized by Finnection FZCO / AskCrossBorder.tax, where eligible participants can win prizes by either:
- Filing cross-border taxes with Finnection (Category A – File & Win)
- Referring others who file their taxes (Category B – Refer & Win)
The Contest runs from 1 December 2025 to 31 May 2026.
Pre-registration ends 31 March 2026.
Winner draw happens in June 2026.
Anyone who:
- Is 18 or older,
- Meets requirements for Category A or B,
- Is not an employee or immediate family member of the Organizer, and
- Complies with the Contest Terms.
CATEGORY A — FILE & WIN (CLIENT ENTRY)
You must complete ALL five steps:
- Join the AskCrossBorder.Tax Facebook Group
- Pre-register using the official form before 31 March 2026
- Complete or fully pay for an eligible tax service by 31 May 2026
- Submit a genuine Google review (10+ words) before 31 May 2026
- Provide consent during pre-registration
Services listed under Eligible Cross-Border Tax Services, including Canadian NR filings, US 1040NR, US expat taxes, international disclosures, Canadian departure returns, and UAE/US/Canada tax consulting. Refer to detailed terms and conditions page for full list of services.
Yes. Joining must occur before service completion or review submission. Moreover, pre-registration link and referral code generation link will be shared on facebook group.
No. Only the official Contest form counts.
Entries are void if:
- You cancel the service
- You request a refund or reverse payment
- You fail to submit a review
- You use fake identities or duplicate emails
CATEGORY B — REFER & WIN (REFERRER ENTRY)
You earn one entry for each referee who completes all Category A steps. However, there is no limit on total number of referrals. Each successful referral is one entry in Category B. Please refer to Family Unit Rule under detailed terms and conditions.
- Join Facebook Group
- Obtain referee’s consent
- Share their referral code
- Ensure referee enters the code at pre-registration
- Ensure referee meets all requirements for category A.
The referee must complete ALL Category A requirements (join FB group, pre-register, complete service, leave review).
The referral becomes invalid.
Organizer timestamps and earliest code take priority.
No. Referring spouse or children under 18 is not allowed.
A household (spouses + children under 18) counts as one referral, regardless of number of tax returns filed.
- Self-referral
- Fake IDs
- Duplicate emails
- Temporary emails
- Referee denying consent
- Suspicious activity (e.g., fake identities)
There is no limit on number of referrals. Each eligible referral is counted as one entry in Category B draw. The more the referrals, the higher odds of getting selected in the draw (statistically).
The link to generate referral code is shared on Facebook Group. So referrer must also join FB group. Each referrer is supposed to have one referral code, which can be used for as many referrals as you want.

Category A (2 Winners)

Category B (3 Winners)
- 1st Prize: iPad (128 GB)
- 2nd & 3rd Prize: AirPods Pro 3
Using a random draw following a suspense-style format:
Category A
- First name drawn → 2nd Prize
- Second name drawn → 1st Prize
Category B
- First two names → 2nd & 3rd prizes
- Third name → 1st prize
No. Prizes are non-transferable and non-exchangeable.
Organizer may substitute with equal or higher value if needed.
NOTIFICATION & DRAW PROCESS
You will be contacted via email and/or phone.
Organizer may publicly share your first name and city.
WITHDRAWAL, CANCELLATION, DISQUALIFICATION
- Cancellation or refund
- Payment reversal
- Not completing requirements in time
- Misrepresentation or fraud
- Organizer denying service for objective reasons (e.g., KYC failure, missing documentation)
PRIVACY & LIABILITY
Only for Contest administration and cross-border tax communication.
Reviews may be used for marketing with name/initial.
- Technical issues
- Incorrect entries
- Internet delays
- Disputes between referrer and referee
- Tax implications of winning a prize
OTHER QUESTIONS
Yes, if required for operational, legal, or fraud-related reasons.
Changes will not disadvantage those with valid entries.
